A partner at Cannizzaro, Bridges, Jillisky & Streng, LLC, Michael is a dedicated trial lawyer who helps people who are often overlooked by the justice system. He defends and represents those who have been charged with criminal violations, driving under the influence and other serious traffic offenses as well as fights for the rights of those who are wrongfully injured.

Michael has a unique approach to each case that helps tailor a strategy to produce the best possible result for each person. This individualized approach incorporates experience, knowledge and the willingness to develop a relationship with each client in order to understand the intricacies of their circumstances and their case. This approach can be summarized as: One client, One person, One case at a time.

After obtaining his bachelor's degree in biology and education from Capital University in 1997, Michael earned his juris doctorate from Capital University in 2000. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, the Southern District of the United States Sixth District Court and is representing people in other jurisdictions and other states working with local counsel.

Michael completed the Trial Lawyers College, designed by Gerry Spence, which has allowed him to sharpen his trial presentation skills and to help each client tell their story. In addition, he is qualified in accordance with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) and International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in DWI detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

In addition to being a contributing author to Trial Techniques for Criminal Cases, published by Thompson Reuters/Aspatore, 2010, Michael has also given numerous lectures on the legal issues of DUI as well as teaching other attorneys how to defend criminal cases, including:

  •  Defending an actual OVI case from jury selection to verdict for Lyons & Lyons Legal Seminars.This event was presented live with closed circuit cameras inside the jury room for prosecutors and defense attorneys to learn how jurors process evidence in an OVI/DUI cases. ('09)
  •  Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys' annual Advanced DUI Seminar. ('07, '08, '09, '11)
  • Presenting at various Driver Intervention Programs/Alcohol Education Programs for first time OVI offenders.

A member of the American Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association, Michael is currently serving as the President of the Union County Bar Association. He is a member of the Ohio Association for Justice, the National Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Ohio Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers (OACDL). Michael is also the chairman of the Union County Criminal Defense Lawyers.
