On March 11, 2008, Cannizzaro, Fraser, Bridges, Jillisky & Streng founding partner John Cannizzaro offered testimony before the Ohio Senate Finance and Financial Institutions Committee in Support of Senate Bill 281.
If passed, the bill would accomplish four significant goals to assist working families:
- It will update an outdated statute whose provisions no longer afford the protections to Ohioans envisioned when enacted almost 30 years ago;
- It will enable Ohioans, financially struggling in an ailing economy, to rejoin the economic mainstream sooner, like their counterparts in other states;
- It will help some Ohioans facing foreclosure save their homes; and
- It will ensure that the updated provisions keep pace with the cost of living.
