Don Fraser was born and raised on a farm near Zanesfield, Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Agriculture in 1975. During his college years, he worked his way through college gaining experience in construction, farm management, veterinary medicine, customer service and as a manager for one of Columbus' largest grocery stores.
 
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Don went on to attend Capital University Law School, receiving his law degree in 1979. After becoming licensed, Don entered the private practice of law with Columbus attorney Daniel D. Connor that same year. In August of 1982, Don and John Cannizzaro founded the law firm of Cannizzaro & Fraser in Marysville, Ohio. The firm is now Marysville’s largest law firm and maintains an AV rating (the highest possible rating) by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Network, a 133 year old organization that rates the qualifications of lawyers on a worldwide basis and considered to be the authoritative resource for information on the worldwide legal profession. Don’s legal experience includes six years as the Bellefontaine Municipal Court Prosecutor, one year as an Assistant Logan County Prosecutor and twenty three years as Solicitor for the Village of Zanesfield. He is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Supreme Court. Don has served as general counsel for Union Rural Electric Cooperative since 2005. The focus of his practice is on representation of businesses and helping families plan and solve problems in matters such as estate planning, Medicaid planning and probate.
