The Mayor’s Court

There are a few essential details you need to understand before your court hearing at the Dublin Mayor’s Court. Mayor’s Courts typically handle municipal-level cases including traffic violations and misdemeanors. Hearings only take place in the evenings, and can be scheduled for the second, third, and fourth Tuesday of every month. The mayor (or the mayor’s appointed magistrate) hears each case, and there is no presiding jury to decide your verdict. Your sentence is decided by the mayor and can include jail time, costly fines, probation, and community service. Any cases the mayor is unable to handle are transferred to Franklin County Municipal Court.

Mayor’s Courts can handle cases related to:

  • Traffic violations
  • Misdemeanor offenses
  • City ordinance violations
